Main purpose of job:
Home Office International Operations (HOIO) operates in more than 40 countries globally, leveraging its customs and immigration expertise in locations of strategic importance to tackle UK-facing serious and organised crime threats. The successful candidate will work as part of the HOIO team at the British High Commission Islamabad.
HOIO Islamabad are recruiting for a Country Based International Liaison Assistant (ILA) to work alongside and provide administrative support to the Immigration Liaison Officers and Manager in their role and will be required to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
• Providing administrative and organisational support to the International Liaison Manager (ILM) and International Liaison Officers (ILO) as necessary.
• Maintaining HOIO records.
• Conducting verification checks against relevant databases and local establishments as required and with the agreement of the ILO/ILM.
• Carrying out compliance research as necessary and reporting on findings.
• Replying to correspondence and handling allegations received by HOIO in accordance with relevant legislation, disseminating information where required, and identifying and alerting to the ILO/ILM when further action is required.
• Handling sensitive material with the upmost regard for protecting information and confidentiality.
• Management of team email inbox, ensuring all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Organising regional travel, internal and external meetings/conferences in consultation with ILO/ILM.
The job holder will likely be required to travel, sometimes at short notice, within the region and occasionally overseas.
